>> one keyboard + mouse, windows → mac
Push the pointer off the edge of your PC screen and it lands on your Mac. Type, copy, paste, drag files. Push it back and you are on Windows again.
Mac with Apple silicon, macOS 13 or later · Windows 10 version 2004 or later, or Windows 11, 64-bit · both on the same local network
Get Gecit for Windows from the Microsoft Store; the Store keeps it up to date. The download page has Gecit.zip for the Mac, and gecit.exe for PCs without the Store. The exe is not code-signed yet, so the first time SmartScreen says "Windows protected your PC": click "More info", then "Run anyway".
why I wrote it
I sit at a Windows PC with a MacBook below the monitor, and used Input Leap to drive both. It dropped the connection several times a day. When I read its logs and its code, I found the causes: a crash in the Mac client that nothing restarted, macOS quietly closing it under memory pressure, and a clipboard image that could kill the Windows side.
Gecit is the replacement I built for that desk. It is a small native app on each side, and it has been my daily driver since.
what it does
- Keyboard and mouse cross to the Mac when the pointer leaves the PC screen on the side where your Mac sits, and come back the same way. Put the Mac below, above, left or right of the PC and slide it along that edge in the Screen arrangement window, the way you arrange displays in macOS. Keys travel as physical scan codes, so your layout stays the same on both sides.
- Clipboard works both ways, text and images.
- Media keys (volume, mute, play, next) control the Mac while the pointer is there.
- Runs over QUIC on your local network. You pair the two once: the PC shows a 6-digit code and you type it on the Mac. After that they only talk to each other; traffic is encrypted and pinned to their certificates.
- If Wi-Fi hiccups, it reconnects in a fraction of a second, and the pointer comes back to Windows on its own if the Mac goes quiet.
- New versions show up in the Gecit menu, and nothing downloads until you click.
- No account and no cloud. Apart from an anonymous update check and, with Pro, the license check, Gecit talks only to your other computer.

Refunds
If Gecit Pro does not work for you, email me within 14 days of purchase and I will refund the full amount. No need to explain why.
Privacy
- Gecit sends your keystrokes, mouse movement, clipboard and dragged files only between your own two computers, directly over your local network. None of it passes through a server of mine or anyone else's.
- If you activate Gecit Pro, the Mac sends your license key and the name "Mac" to Lemon Squeezy's license API when you activate it. About once a week afterwards, and when you remove the license from the Mac, it sends the key with the activation ID Lemon Squeezy returned, to check or release the activation.
- When you buy, Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email address and payment details to process the order. Their privacy policy applies to that data. I see your name, email and order, and use them only to support you.
- The Mac app and the downloaded Windows app check GitHub for a newer version a few minutes after they start and then once a day, or at most every ten minutes while mismatched versions keep your two computers from connecting. The check sends no identifier and does not say which version you run, so GitHub sees only your IP address and the time, as with any download. If there is a new version, a second request fetches its signature; the update itself downloads only when you click it. Set
"update_check": falsein Gecit'sconfig.jsonto turn the check off. The Microsoft Store version never checks; the Store updates it. - Apart from these two checks, Gecit sends nothing anywhere. There is no analytics, tracking or advertising in the app or on this site.
The full privacy policy, in English and Turkish, also covers what Gecit keeps on each computer and how to remove it.
Terms
- Gecit is sold by snthbob, an independent developer. Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for all orders.
- A Pro license is for your personal or work use on up to two Macs at a time. Do not share or resell keys.
- The software is provided as is, without warranty. I am not liable for data loss or damages from its use, to the extent the law allows. Keep backups of files you move.
- I may update these terms; the version on this page applies to new purchases.
